Fifteen passengers of a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight from Honolulu in Hawaii to Manila were injured after the aircraft was hit by clear air turbulence on Friday afternoon.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said PAL flight no. PR 1010 requested for a priority landing and medical emergency to treat the injured passengers.

In a statement, PAL said medical assistance was already underway after the aircraft landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) at 4:20 p.m.

“A team of medical personnel, airport officials and PAL customer relations officers are being deployed to provide all available assistance when the aircraft arrives at approximately 4:20 this afternoon at Terminal 2 of the NAIA,” PAL said.
