Vice President Jejomar Binay on Thursday said he would announce his running mate in the 2016 elections soon.
“Malapit na (Soon),” was the response of Binay in a Radyo Inquirer interview when asked if he has chosen his vice president for the coming elections.

He said the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) has already chosen his three possible running mates.
“Sa huli kong pagkaalam e tatlo nalang ho ang kanilang pinagpipilian,” he said, adding that UNA has formed a selection committee after the party’s search committee has narrowed down his possible tandem in 2016.
(Based on my latest knowledge, they are choosing among the 3 possible candidates.)
“Ang sigurado ay magkakaraoon kami ng kandidato sa pagka-pangalawang pangulo. Sigurado po yan,” he said.
(The certain thing is we will have a vice presidential candidate. That’s certain.)
Binay, however, kept mum on the identity of his three possible running mates.
Binay earlier said that UNA is “considering” Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to be his running mate in the presidential elections next year.
Binay was among those who were at the forefront of the People Power revolution that toppled the government of the senator’s late father, former president Ferdinand Marcos.
The vice president earlier said that the country should move on from the events that transpired during the martial law.
“Enough of vindictiveness. Let’s move on,” he said. Nestor Corrales/RAM
