Orange rainfall warning up in Cavite, Batangas, Laguna

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Saturday warned against “threatening” floods in Cavite, Batangas and Laguna as typhoon “Ineng” (international name: Goni) continues to affect Luzon.

Pagasa at 8:30 a.m. issued an orange rainfall alert over the three provinces and warned that “flooding is threatening” in the said areas.

Meanwhile, yellow warning level was up in Metro Manila, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Rizal and Quezon where flooding in low lying areas is imminent.

Light to moderate with occasionally heavy rains is expected in Bataan, Pampanga and Bulacan over the next two to three hours.

At least five people were killed in landslides and floods on Friday as Ineng battered northern Luzon. It is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday morning.
