Arroyo attends burial of brother Arturo Macapagal

Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo arrived at The Heritage Park Mortuary and Crematory in Taguig on Saturday to attend the burial of her brother, Arturo Macapagal.

The former president’s convoy, which came from the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City, arrived at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m.

A security guard detailed at the C5 southbound entrance of the cemetery said there was no information about Macapagal’s burial as of yet.

Security was tight as media vehicles trailing the convoy from VMMC were stopped at the entrance and were not allowed to enter.

The former president and incumbent Pampanga representative has been under hospital arrest at the VMMC since 2012 due to a plunder charge. JE
