Man runs over, kills daughter while reparking car
SANDAKAN, Malaysia—A man reparking his vehicle at a relative’s house, where the family had come on an Hari Raya Aidilfitri visit Friday night, accidentally ran over and killed his three-year-old daughter.
Mutia Noraini Ayup died of severe head injuries as she was being rushed to the Duchess of Kent Hospital from Taman Sejati Ujana, Batu 7, near here after the incident at about 10:30 p.m., said Sandakan Police chief ACP Zabidi Md Zain.
The girl had accompanied her three siblings and parents on a visit to an uncle’s house in conjunction with Hari Raya, he said.
Her 38-year-old father was reparking his four-wheel-drive vehicle after dropping off the family when he realized he had run over something and heard his wife scream, he said.
They rushed Mutia Noraini to the Duchess of Kent Hospital but she had died by the time they reached the hospital, he said.
