Valenzuela City calls for forced evacuation

The local government of Valenzuela City has called for the evacuation of residents near Tullahan river on Friday.

“Mayor Rex Gatchalian recommends forced evacuation for residents living in low-lying areas particularly near Tullahan river due to possible over spilling of La Mesa Dam,” a public advisory posted on the city Facebook page said.

As of 6 a.m., the water level of La Mesa Dam has reached 79.98  meters, which is near the spilling level of 80.15 meters, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The city government has released a list of evacuation centers in the area, posted below.

Residents who may need rescuing may call the Valenzuela City rescue unit at (02) 292 1405 or (02) 352 2000.
