LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu, Philippines — The suspension order issued anew to Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay and other city officials will be served by personnel of the Department of Interior and Local Government-National Capitol Region (DILG-NCR), according to Interior Secretary Mar Roxas.

Roxas was in Cebu with President Aquino on Monday afternoon for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new passenger terminal of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

“Pina-authenticate na natin ito. Authentic nga talaga itong order na ito (We had it authenticated. And the order is authentic),” he said.

“In fact, ang Ombudsman mismo ang nagpadala ng kanilang sariling team doon sa Makati para i-serve itong order na ito (it was the Ombudsman who sent their own team to Makati to serve the order),” he added.

Roxas maintained that the suspension order was a “regular order” and the Ombudsman regularly sent out orders to the DILG.

Serving a suspension order has been the “regular” job of the DILG.

“So, pinaubaya na natin ang pagserve sa order to DILG NCR na siya naman SOP kapag may ganitong suspension orders (We allowed the DILG NCR to serve the order which is a standard operating procedure whenever there is such suspension orders.”  SFM
