4 civilians killed in ambush by suspected BIFF fighters

COTABATO CITY – Four civilians were killed in an ambush staged by suspected Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) gunmen in Shariff Saydona Mustapha town in Maguindanao on Thursday evening, a military spokesperson said Friday.

Captain Jo-Ann Petinglay of the military’s 6th Infantry Division, told the Inquirer Friday the victims – whose identities were not immediately available – were on a white Toyota Innova from Shariff Saydona Mustapha when attacked around 9 p.m. by a band of BIFF men led by a certain Sala.

Petinglay said initial investigation disclosed that a family feud could be behind the incident.
