NBI agents in cahoots with Bilibid inmates – whistleblower
ONE of the 19 Bilibid inmates detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) accused NBI agents of receiving P1.5 million for every mobile phone they sneaked into the cells of the high-profile prisoners.
The inmate, currently under the protective custody of the government’s Witness Protection Program (WPP), told Justice Secretary Leila de Lima that the members of the NBI search team were the culprits.
“The informant is telling us na yung searching team ang nag-iiwan ng mobile phones. We will try to find out if that is true. The informant said it is P1.5-million per cellular phone,” de Lima told reporters.
The informant, de Lima said, has identified the NBI agents whom she said were always part of the search team.
“They are probably taking orders from an [NBI] official. There is an indication,” de Lima said.
De Lima said that the high-profile Chinese inmates were the ones who have been paying the alleged members of the searching team. AC
