2 hurt in Busay road mishap

A MAN and his female backrider were injured when the motorcycle they rode on crashed in barangay Busay, Cebu City yesterday afternoon.

The injured persons were not immediately identified.

Initial information revealed that the man was an Australian-Korean national.

Investigators later found out that the motorcycle with plate number 4335-US was registered under Ebon Lee of Beverly Hills, barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

The foreigner and the woman sustained bruises in their bodies.

The motorcycle was pinned under a pick-up vehicle owned by ABS-CBN.

“I already saw them from afar that they were swerving. I stopped but as they crashed, they were headed toward the car I was driving,” said Perfecto Gabinete Jr., driver of the car, in Cebuano.

Witnesses said the driver of the motorcycle lost control while negotiating an uphill road.

Jeepney driver Jun Espiña said the motorcycle was running at high speed when it crashed.

Paramedics brought the injured persons to a Cebu City hospital./CORRESPONDENT EDISON A. DELOS ANGELES
