MAN KILLED, 2 HURT IN LAPU SHOOTINGS

A MAN was killed while two were injured, including a two-month old baby boy, in separate shooting incidents in Lapu-Lapu City.

Luiz Bryan Mumongan was shot dead while in a drinking session in a friend’s house in barangay Bangkal past 3 a.m. yesterday.

Mumongan suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the body. He was declared dead at the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital.

Police said the victim was with a group of friends drinking inside the house of Rolly Banzon.

While the drinking session was ongoing, two men arrived, peeped through the window and opened fire.

The assailants fled after the attack.

Police are still investigating the incident to determine the motive of the killing and identify the gunmen.

In barangay Looc, Elmo Posada, 31, and his two-month old nephew were wounded when a neighbor strafed their house past noon last Saturday.

The suspect, Jaime Patriarca, 42, fled after the shooting, said police.

Posada sustained gunshot wounds in the body while the baby was wounded in the leg.

The victims were rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital. Posada was later transferred to the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Police said the suspect opened fire from the back of the house where six empty shells and three slugs of a .45 pistol were recovered.

MAN SHOT DEAD IN ERMITA

AN UNIDENTIFIED man was shot dead in Carbon market area in barangay Ermita, Cebu City last Saturday night.

The fatality was believed to be between 30 and 40 years old. He wore a red jacket, denim short pants and white slippers.

The man succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and body.

Based on the police investigation, the man arrived at a store on board a motorcycle driven by another man.

The man got off and bought a cigarette.

An unidentified man approached the victim and without a word shot him repeatedly.

The victim’s companions sped off after seeing the attack.
