KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines — A policeman was injured when a still unidentified suspect lobbed a grenade at the police station of Esperanza town in Sultan Kudarat province on Wednesday.
In a dispatch, the Sultan Kudarat provincial police office said the grenade landed and exploded outside the Esperanza police station.
The report said SPO1 Arlan Ramales, a member of the town police, sustained shrapnel injuries during the 4:50 a.m. attack that also damaged the glass door and window jalousies of the police office.
A post-blast investigation conducted by the provincial police’s Explosive and Ordnance Disposal Team yielded metal fragments from the grenade and its pull ring.
The investigation was continuing as of this hour to establish the motive and identity of the suspects, the dispatch said. Williamor Magbanua
