LUCENA CITY — A videoke session between two merrymakers ended in a tragedy after one of them was killed and the other wounded in Gen. Trias City, Cavite on Monday night, Jan. 6.
The Region 4A police reported Tuesday that James Bryan Luna, 34, and Aldrin Toribio, 19, were having a drinking spree and enjoying videoke singing inside a subdivision in Barangay Santiago around 11 p.m.
Suddenly, one alias “Johnson,” a “bantay-bayan” volunteer arrived and advised them to tone down their loud music that disturbed the residents’ peace in the area.
But instead of heeding the advice, the two drinkers became agitated and engaged Johnson in a heated argument.
The altercation resulted in a fistfight which prompted Johnson to stab his attackers, police said.
Johnson fled after the stabbing and left his victims seriously wounded. They were brought to Gen. Trias Medical Center but Luna died while undergoing treatment.
An investigation is ongoing, while the police launched a manhunt operation to arrest Johnson.
