ZAMBOANGA CITY –  The seven-year old son of a policeman was freed by his Abu Sayyaf captors on Saturday night, more than three months after he was kidnapped in Jolo, Sulu.

Col. Allan Arrojado, commander of Joint Task Group Sulu, said the boy was delivered by two motorcycle-riding men to his uncle’s house in the village of Bus-Bus in Jolo.

The victim was kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf men under Hatib Hambi on March 10.

Arrojado declined to identify the victim and his father for security reasons.

“The boy’s father, a policeman, shot and killed a member of the Abu Sayyaf early this year and the kidnapping was a form of retaliation against him,” Arrojado said.
