Aquino describes Pia Wurtzbach as ‘kind, determined’
What does President Benigno Aquino III think of Miss Universe Philippines Pia Wurtzbach?
“Mabait na tao ‘yan, at saka magaling, at saka determinado (She’s a kind person, good at what she does, and determined),” Aquino said during a radio interview.
The President was asked to comment on several media personalities at the end of his Bombo Radyo interview, aired on Thursday.
The video of the interview showed Aquino smiling and laughing a bit when the beauty queen’s name was mentioned.
Aquino’s description of Wurtzbach, who he has been rumored to have dated, was longer than the one-word replies he gave for the other personalities.
Following Wurtzbach win last March, reports circulated that she went out with the President on a date.
In a television interview, Wurtzbach did not directly respond to the question on whether they were seeing each other. She just said Aquino was “very fun to talk to.”

Inquirer Lifestyle was able to interview her almost a month later and she said Aquino was very “passionate” about serving the country.
“And you don’t feel intimidated when he’s around. He’s very approachable. He’s always smiling. Or maybe that’s just me. Also, he’s ready to answer any question you throw at him,” she had said.

Another Inquirer article quoted a source saying the two are not yet in a serious relationship. The Palace official said Aquino liked Wurtzbach because she was a “deep thinker.” KS
