Pressured to marry, religious teacher stabs girlfriend to death

PETALING JAYA, Malaysia—Pressured by his girlfriend’s constant nagging him to wed her, a religious teacher allegedly stabbed the 34-year-old woman to death in front of the school where he was employed.

The man was arrested at his home in Jalan Songket 4, Taman Bukit Bujang, several hours after the bloodied body of Nur Salina Nazir was discovered in her grey Proton Wira at about 9am on Wednesday.

Nur Salina, who has four children, was found with seven stab wounds on her body at the driver’s seat.

Nur Salina’s vehicle was parked in front of Sekolah Rendah Agama Kuala Kubu Baru with the door to the driver’s seat left opened.

She was discovered by passers-by who alerted the authorities.

It was revealed that a heated argument broke out after she allegedly insisted on her boyfriend marrying her.

The argument took a turn for the worse when the man suddenly whipped out a knife and started stabbing her repeatedly.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt R. Supramaniam confirmed the incident and said the case was classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“She was stabbed four times on her chest, two on the ribs and one on the left arm.

“Her belongings are also missing. We are trying to find the weapon that was used,” he said.

The suspect has also confessed to the stabbing, said Supramaniam.

Nur Salina left behind four children – three daughters and a son – aged between seven and 14.
