THE Nacionalista Party (NP) has failed to reach a consensus about its plan in 2016 during its Manila-Japan cruise late last month, Senator Cynthia Villar said on Monday.
Senators Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Antonio Trillanes IV, both NP members, earlier said that the upcoming presidential elections might be discussed during the cruise.

But when asked by reporters about the results of their discussion, Villar said: “Walang consensus.”
Villar is the wife of NP President and former Senator Manny Villar.
“Malayo pa e, at saka marami pang mangyayari so we decided not to make a decision,” the lady senator said.
Asked again if there were NP members who have internally expressed desire to run for certain positions in 2016, Senator Villar said: “Wala rin, parang nothing definite din. Hindi kami nakakuha ng consensus.”
Both Marcos and Trillanes were tightlipped about the issue when asked in separate text messages.
Trillanes though described the NP meeting during the cruise as “productive” and “fruitful.”
“Maganda. It was very productive, very fruitful tapos maganda yung samahan dun,” he later told reporters in an interview at the Senate.
Trillanes has publicly expressed his desire to run for vice president while Senate Majority Leader Alan Cayetano, another NP member, openly declared his intention to run for president. AC
