Suspected bomber Usman shot dead by MILF—reports
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Suspected bomber Abdul Basit Usman was reportedly killed in Guindulungan town in Maguindanao on Sunday.
A source said that Usman was shot by Commander Barokof the 118th Base Command of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in Barangay (village) Muti at around 11:50 a.m.
But the military refused to comment on the report.
Von Al Haq, vice chairman for military affairs of the MILF, said they have received similar reports and were verifying it on the ground.
The US government offers a $3 million reward for the capture of Usman dead or alive.
Usman is the second target in the controversial operation in Mamasapano that left at least 65 people dead, including 44 Special Action Force Commandos.
