Did you know: Malaria cases in PH

World Malaria Day, which is observed on April 25, was designated in March 2007 by the 60th World Health Assembly. In the Philippines, malaria cases declined from 46,342 in 2005 to 7,720 in 2013, according to the latest report of the Department of Health. The number of deaths from malaria also went down from 150 in 2005 to 12 in 2013.—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
