Complaint filed vs 2 for sale of ‘date rape’ drug GHB
A complaint for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act has been filed in the Department of Justice (DOJ) against two suspects arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for selling the “date rape” drug Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB).
Model Mica Anatacio and her Nigerian friend Balogun Ashimiyu were brought to the DOJ at around 6 p.m. for inquest proceedings.
An inquest is an informal and summary investigation conducted by the public prosecutor in a criminal case involving a person arrested and detained without the benefit of a warrant of arrest for the purpose of determining whether the person should remain under custody and be charged in court.
The two were arrested on Wednesday during a drug operation in Mandaluyong City.
Anatacio is the partner of Filipino-American Dennis Thikey, the NBI’s target during the raid in Mandaluyong on Tuesday night. However, Thikey and his accomplices, fellow American Sean Eugene Blanchard, Alenie Aprid Matute and Aaron Doe, escaped.
NBI anti-illegal drugs chief Joel Tovera said GHB, known as liquid ecstasy, is being sold in the market for P10,000 per 100 milliliters.
