MANILA, Philippines—A graduate of the San Beda College of Law topped the 2014 bar exam, the Supreme Court announced Thursday.
Irene Mae Alcobilla paced all 1,126 successful takers with a rating of 85.5%. Aside from her, two other graduates of SBC made the Top 10.
Taking the second place was Christian Drilon, a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University, with an 85.45% passing rate.
The rest of the Top 10 were: Sandra Mae Magalang of the University of the Philippines (3rd place, 84.6%); Mark Leo Bejemino of UP, Gil Garcia of Ateneo de Davao and Reginald Laco of De La Salle University Lipa (all in 4th place, 84.55%); Michelle Liao of University of Cebu (5th place, 84.5%); Jose Angelo David of SBC (6th place, 84.45%); Adrian Aumentado of SBC (7th place, 84.35%); Rhey David Daway of UP and Fideliz Cardellie Diaz of Far Eastern University-De La Salle University Juris Doctor MBA (8th place, 84.2%); Jamie Liz Yu of UP (9th place, 84%); and Tristan Delgado of AdMU (10th place, 83.95%).
The last time a San Beda College of Law alumnus topped the bar was in 2009 when Reinier Paul Yebra who aced the 2009 exam. IDL
