Passenger returns $3K in cash found in Naia ladies’ room
MANILA, Philippines—An honest passenger who found $3,000 in an envelope inside a toilet cubicle at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 1 turned over the money to authorities on Wednesday before boarding her flight for South Korea.
Aviation Security Corp. security guard Rhoda Rualo said the Filipino woman, who asked not to be identified, left the money with her and asked her to look for its owner.
According to the finder, an elderly woman had used the cubicle before her but when asked, the latter denied that the envelope was her’s.
The honest passenger told Rualo that she found the money inside one of the cubicles at the women’s restroom near Gate 10 of the Naia Terminal 1 departure area.
According to Joel Garcia, Rualo’s supervisor, they will turn over the cash to the Naia Intelligence and Investigation Division.
“We really hope the true owner turns up soon,” Garcia said.
