PNP confident BOI’s Mamasapano probe will finish on time
MANILA, Philippines–The Philippine National Police is positive that the investigation body it formed to look into the Mamasapano debacle will finish the probe on deadline on March 6.
PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. said Monday that the Board of Inquiry is now finalizing the reports based on its recent ocular visit in Mamasapano and statements from resource persons.
“Sinabi na ni General (Benjamin) Magalong na based sa holdings, more or less may complete picture ng nangyari sa Mamasapano noong January 25,” he said.
“Umasa kayo na sa tamang panahon magkakaroon ng katapusan itong ginawa ng BOI,” Cerbo added.
(General Magalong said that based on the holdings, we have more or less a complete picture of what happened in Mamasapano on January 25. Expect that what BOI is doing will finish on time).

Article continues after this advertisementA day after the January 25 incident, the PNP formed the BOI led by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group head Police Director Benjamin Magalong.
Among those who sent their affidavits to the BOI were resigned PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima and PNP officer in charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina.
Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, who was kept in the dark about the operation along with Espina, earlier said that he had sent to the BOI his exchange of text messages with Aquino and other officials involved.
