3 moderate quakes rock Luzon, Visayas
MANILA, Philippines—A 5.3-magnitude earthquake shook Calatagan, Batangas at 1:09 p.m., hours after two moderate quakes rattled the provinces of Catanduanes and Bohol, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said Saturday.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the tremors.
In Batangas, the earthquake struck 21 kilometers northwest of Calatagan at a depth of 112 kilometers.
At 5:56 a.m., Virac, Catanduanes was rattled by a 4.1-magnitude quake. It occurred 35 kilometers southwest of Virac at a depth of 24 kilometers.
At 8:02 a.m., a magnitude 4 earthquake shook the island province of Bohol. It occurred three kilometers northwest of Antequera at a shallow depth of four kilometers.
It was felt at Intensity IV in Antequera, Intensity III in Tagbilaran City and Loay and Intensity II in Cebu City.
