Unruly man delays Manila-bound plane at Cebu airport for 2 hours
MANILA, Philippines—A Manila-bound flight from Mactan Cebu International Airport was delayed for two hours on Tuesday after an unruly passenger on board caused a scene while the plane was preparing for takeoff.
In a report reaching the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, a TigerAir flight (SRQ7011) was pushing back at the ramp of the Cebu airport at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday when its passenger identified as Kenny Barrosa, 31, began to act strangely.
A resident of Liloan, Cebu, Barrosa complained to the crew of the TigerAir that he could not breathe. Upon checking on the passenger, the crew said he looked fine.
“The passenger got angry and dashed into the front of the plane. He was trying to open the front door of the plane, counting 1 to 3, and then cursing,” the CAAP report said.
The passenger kept shouting at the crew: “If you cannot give me first aid, I will break the window.”
When the airline crew could no longer pacify the passenger, the pilot had to request for security assistance.
