Cop’s daughter, man linked to drugs shot dead in Digos City
DIGOS CITY, Philippines–Unidentified gunmen on Monday evening shot dead two persons, including a daughter of a police officer, in what police said was an attack that might have something to do with the illegal drugs problem here.
Superintendent Querubin Manalang, city police chief, said Dyan Jade Navarro, 21, of Barangay San Jose here, and Manuel Dipaling Cadungog Jr., of Aurora Street here, were on a motorbike when fired at by unidentified men along Sta. Ana Avenue in Barangay Tres de Mayo.
Navarro’s father is a police officer assigned at the Hagonoy town police office, according to Manalang.
Manalang said the victims suffered gunshot wounds in the head and body and died instantly.
Manalang said Cadungog was on the list of personalities suspected to be involved in the illegal drug trade in the city. The police chief said the motive of the killing could be business rivalry.
Another angle being looked into, he said, was love triangle.
