MANILA, Philippines — Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago is prodding Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla to run for senator in 2016.

“I’m hoping that he will run for senator in 2016 that’s why he is here. I’m talking of Jericho Petilla, the energy secretary,” Santiago said during a press conference in Makati City on Friday.

“These are my opinions and mine alone,” the senator added.

Santiago made the remarks as she acknowledged Petilla’s presence in her presscon. Both just came from the Renewable Energy Conference held at the Grand Ballroom of the Intercontinental Manila in Makati City.
