Palace thanks public for Aquino’s improved ratings

MANILA, Philippines–Malacañang on Wednesday thanked Filipinos for supporting President Benigno Aquino III, citing his improved net satisfaction rating for the fourth quarter of the year.

“Perhaps it’s the good work that continues to show, and the efforts that the administration puts in to push for programs that would directly benefit the people,” deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte told Palace reporters.

The Social Weather Stations (SWS) on Wednesday released the results of its poll, which showed a five point percentage improvement in Aquino’s net satisfaction rating (from +34 in September to +39 in December).

“We note that from the decline last June for the second quarter, so far the numbers have consistently been going up, and we extend our appreciation to the people for their continued support for President Aquino and his administration,” Valte said.

The +39 net satisfaction rating (63 percent satisfied, 24 percent dissatisfied and 14 percent undecided) of Aquino is the highest in the last three quarters. He had a net satisfaction rating of +45 in the first quarter but it plunged to +25 three months after.
