naga city mapLEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Rains that have been pouring without letup since Friday brought by Typhoon “Ruby” caused Naga River, a tributary of Bicol River, to overflow and flood surrounding villages in Naga City, the mayor said Monday.

Naga City Mayor John Bongat said Naga River overflowed Sunday evening after “Ruby” made its second landfall in Masbate that also brought heavy rains in other Bicol areas.

Knee-high flood affected the villages along the riverbanks of Naga River but no one was harmed since residents in these areas have all been evacuated between Friday and Saturday, the mayor said.
