Maserati driver:Truth will out

MANILA, Philippines—The Maserati motorist linked to the assault of a traffic enforcer in Quezon City issued a statement on Friday, saying he had confidence in the justice system and believes the truth will eventually come out.

Joseph R‎ussel Ingco, 39, has been in the news for allegedly insulting and mauling Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic enforcer Jorbe Adriatico in Quezon Avenue on Thursday morning. Ingco was driving his blue Maserati Ghibli.

“Yesterday, my name was mentioned in an incident involving a traffic enforcer of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The untoward event also triggered the offer of a reward of P100,000.00 for my capture and countless social media tirades against me and my family,” Ingco said in a statement released to GMA News on Friday.

“I have full trust and confidence in our legal system and I believe that the truth will eventually come out.”

Ingco also vowed to the authorities and the public that he would submit himself to the proper legal processes.

Saying he was a “very private person,” Ingco said ‎his wife and children were “severely suffering” from the “cruel statements” they had received after his name was dragged into the issue.

Early Friday, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) found Ingco’s luxury sports ‎car parked at the Valencia Towers condominium in New Manila, Quezon City.

Following the incident, Adriatico sought the QCPD’s assistance in searching for the man who mauled him at the intersection of G. Araneta and Quezon Avenues after he tried to photograph the Maserati making an illegal turn.

Upon verification with the Land Transportation Office, the police found the luxury car registered under Ingco’s name.

“What happened was truly sad but I hope that people will let due process take its course. I am praying for the patience and understanding of everybody. Thank you very much,” he added.
