Man busted in Las Piñas long-wanted in Manila
One of the four men who were arrested in Las Piñas City on Monday for illegal possession of firearms and explosives turned out to be the leader of a gang involved in gunrunning, drug-pushing and robberies in Manila and Bulacan province, the police said.
Senior Supt. Adolfo Samala, the city’s chief of police, said Reynaldo Ramos, 34, led the Rey Burgos Group while using the aliases Poklat, Rey Ramos Burgos and Anthony de la Cruz Miranda, based on records in Camp Crame and the Manila Police District.
Ramos and three others—P03 Magdaleno Pacia, Rogelio Villamor, and Edmar Hernandez—were arrested on Monday in front of Ever Gotesco Mall on Alabang-Zapote Road following a tip that they were planning to rob a businesswoman in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
Investigators said they were carrying several firearms and a hand grenade when arrested.
According to a Nov. 14 report prepared by Samala, Ramos also had an outstanding warrant of arrest for drug peddling issued by Judge Emilio Rodolfo Legaspi III of Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 13, and another for robbery issued by Judge Noli Diaz of Branch 39 of the Manila RTC.
SP02 Ernesto Bautista said Ramos was also a suspect in the killing of a barangay kagawad and a barangay chair in Manila. Kristine Felisse Mangunay
