LUCENA CITY — Police seized P850,000 worth of “shabu” – a slang for crystal meth – from an alleged “high value” drug trafficker in a buy-bust operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite early Saturday, July 27.

Cavite police chief, Colonel Eleuterio Ricardo Jr., in a report said “Nel,” 25, was arrested by anti-illegal drugs operatives after he allegedly sold shabu to a poseur-buyer in Barangay (village) Datu Esmael at around 1:45 a.m. Seized from the suspects was a total of 125 grams of shabu.

Police tagged the suspect, a resident of Barangay San Esteban, as among persons included in the police drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual in the local drug trade.

Authorities are investigating the source of the illegal drugs.

The suspect was detained and is facing charge for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
