MANILA, Philippines–Chinese-Filipino businessman Antonio Tiu returned to the Senate on Thursday in its ongoing investigation into the allegedly overpriced Makati City Hall 2 parking building.
Tiu, who has been tagged as the dummy of Vice President Jejomar Binay for the controversial property in Batangas province, first appeared before the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee last October 22.
In that hearing, Tiu repeatedly stated that he owned the property being linked to the Vice President. He failed to to present documents, however, to prove his claim.
Also present during Thursday’s hearing of the subcommittee were Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares, Securities and Exchange Commission chairperson Teresita Herbosa, lawyer Renato Bondal, among others.
