Senate resumes Makati Building 2 probe
MANILA, Philippines — The Senate blue ribbon subcommittee resumed on Thursday its investigation into the allegedly overpriced Makati City Hall 2 parking building.
The investigation though has expanded to other issues, including a property in Batangas province that Vice President Jejomar Binay allegedly owned.
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, in a text message before the start of the hearing, said they would present new evidence “to erase doubts” that Binay was the real owner of the Batangas property.
The Vice President has repeatedly denied ownership of the property but also repeatedly turned down the subcommittee’s invitation to face and answer all allegations being hurled at him.
