MANILA, Philippines —  Senator  Antonio  Trillanes  IV said  new  evidence would be presented  at the Senate on  Thursday  to “erase  doubts”  about Vice President Jejomar Binay’s ownership of the  controversial  Sunchamp Agri-Tourism Park in Rosario Town, in Batangas.

“We  will present  new evidence to erase doubts that  VP Binay owns  the hacienda in Rosario, Batangas,”   Trillanes said  in a text message  ahead  of the  9 a.m.  resumption of the  Senate  blue ribbon subcommittee’s investigation  into the  allegedly overpriced  Makati City Hall 2 parking  building.

The  investigation has expanded to other alleged  irregularities  committed  when  Binay was still the city mayor.

“As of yesterday, Mr. Tiu has yet to submit documents to  support his claim of ownership of Hacienda Binay,”  Trillanes said, referring to Antonio Tiu, who identified  himself  as the  owner of  the  property.

Tiu, president of  Greenergy Holdings Inc.  that bought the majority shares of the Sunchamp Real Estate Development Corp. operating the   Sunchamp Agri-Tourism  Park, faced the subcommittee last  October 22 but failed to produce   documents to prove his ownership of the  property.

The  subcommittee then directed  Tiu to return  to the  committee and  submit  the necessary documents.
