DOLE to hold job fairs in ‘Yolanda’-hit areas, other provinces

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) regional offices are holding job fairs until December.

Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said that areas hit by Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (international name: Haiyan) in the Visayas will also hold job fairs, a sign of progress after the super typhoon struck nearly a year ago.

“I am also heartened that our Regional Offices located in Yolanda-affected areas, such as Regions 6, 7, and 8, have scheduled job fairs. I know that our offices in these regions will be offering job opportunities to the calamity victims. Remembering that fateful day of Nov. 8, 2013 and the way we at the DOLE acted to support the affected regions warms my heart,” Baldoz said in a statement.

Here is the tentative schedule of the job fairs.

October:

REGION XII: Oct. 25– Panabo City Job Fair at the Gaisano Grand Mall of Panabo City sponsored by the Rotary Club; October 2 – 14th Chartered Anniversary job fair at the Gaisano Grand Mall, Koronadal; and, October 8 -Local and Overseas Jobfair at Pigcawayan Municipal Gymnasium, Pigcawayan, Cotabato; and

REGION X: Oct. 31 – Hapsay Job Fair at the City Tourism Hall, Cagayan de Oro City.

November:

NCR: Nov. 7 – Local and Overseas job fair at the Makati Park & Garden, Dr. Jose P. Rizal Extension, Makati City; and, November 20 – Mini Job Fair at the Amphitheater, Malabon City Hall; and,

REGION IV-A: Nov. 28 – PESO Los Baños Job Fair fair at the New Municipal Bldg., Timugan, Los Baños, Laguna;

REGION VI: Nov. 8 and 16 – PESO-Iloilo City Job Fair at Robinsons Place Iloilo, Iloilo City;

REGION VII: Nov. 8 – 69th Mega Job Fair, Cebu City; November 15 -Local and Overseas Job Fair at Panphil B. Frasco Memorial Sports Complex, Liloan, Cebu; November 22 – Barangay Tisa, Cebu City job fair; and November 29 – Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City job fair;

CAR: Nov. 10-11 – ADIVAY 2015 Job Fair at the Capitol in La Trinidad, Benguet sponsored by the Benguet Provincial Governor’s Office;

REGION X: Nov. 15 – Job Fair at the SM City Car Park, Cagayan de Oro City sponsored by the ABS-CBN; and, Nov. 28 – Hapsay Job Fair at the City Tourism Hall, Cagayan de Oro City;

REGION XI: Nov. 15 – Nograles Mini Job Fair at Catalunan Pequeño NHS Covered Court, Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City; and

CARAGA: Nov. 16 – The ABS-CBN Job Fair at the FSUU Gymnasium, Butuan City sponsored by ABS CBN-CARAGA.

December:

REGION VI: Dec. 5 – PESO-Kabankalan, Negros Occidental Job Fair at Kabankalan Catholic College Gym, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental December 8 – DOLE Region VI and PESO Association Job Fair at Dingoy Roxas Gym, Roxas City, Capiz; DOLE Negros Occidental Field Office Job Fair at Robinsons Place Bacolod, Bacolod City; and, DOLE Region VI Job Fair at Robinson’s Place Iloilo, Iloilo City;

REGION VII: Dec. 6 – Local Job Fair, Cebu City; Local and Overseas Job Fair, Mandaue City; December 7 – Local Job Fair, Capitol Grounds; and December 12 – Jobs Bridging-DMDP, Cebu City;
