3 caught with P7M shabu aboard truck stopped at Cotabato City checkpoint
COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Police authorities and elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao arrested three persons here on Monday night as they were transporting at least P7 million worth of shabu(methamphetamine hydrochloride).
Senior Supt. Rolen Balquin, city police director, said Tato Felmin, his wife Alma, and helper Fahad Guiamad, were in a mini-cargo truck that authorities flagged down at a checkpoint based on an earlier tip that a similar vehicle was carrying shabu.
Balquin said policemen manning the checkpoint in Barangay Tamontaka checked on the truck and found more than one kilo of the prohibited substance.
The suspects, who were still being investigated as of Tuesday morning, would be charged with drug trafficking, he said.
