MANILA, Philippines — Senator Antonio Trillanes IV accused Vice President Jejomar Binay of allegedly coddling one of the witnesses, who has been summoned to the ongoing hearing of the Senate blue ribbon sub-committee on the controversial Makati City Hall 2 parking building.
“Si Gerry Limlingan ay tinatago ni Vice President,” Trillanes said during the weekly Kapihan sa Senado on Thursday.
Limlingan has been tagged by forrmer Makati Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado as the alleged bagman and dummy of the Vice President. The subcommittee has repeatedly summoned Limingan in its hearings but could not be located by the Senate security in his given addresses.
Trillanes said he got the information that Binay was hiding Limlingan from his informants inside the Vice President’s camp.
The senator also said that when the subcommittee resumes its investigation, there will be new exposes, pieces of evidence and probably new witnesses that will be presented against Binay.
“Yes panibagong uri ng corruption na ginawa nitong VP Binay…” Trillanes said.
There is no schedule yet of the next hearing of the subcommittee but the senator hopes it will resume when the sessions of Congress resume next week.
