Rains to continue pouring on Mindanao due to LPA—Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Mindanao will continue to experience rains as a low pressure area has been spotted east of the island, according to the weather bureau.
As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, the low pressure area was estimated around 1,000 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Should it develop into a cyclone, it will be named “Paeng.”
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Mindanao, which recently experienced heavy rains due to an intertropical convergence zone, would continue to experience rains due to the LPA.
The weather bureau forecast cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms for Mindanao, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, Region 4-A) and Aurora province.
The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and the provinces of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
