MANILA, Philippines—Mayon Volcano has posted zero activity in a 24-hour span between Sunday and Monday morning, but the volcanology institute warned that an eruption is still imminent.
In its 8 a.m. Mayon bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Mayon has not recorded any volcanic quakes in the observation period between Sunday and Monday morning.
Moderate emission of white steam plumes have been observed but crater glow was invisible in the evening.
Mayon is still at alert level 3 which means that magma is at the crater and that a hazardous eruption could happen within weeks.
