MANILA, Philippines―Alyzza Agustin, the model who came under fire after she had used the alleged business card of Philippine National Police Directorate for Plans Alexander Ignacio to dodge a traffic violation, apologized for the incident Tuesday night using her Facebook account.

Agustin, who was hailed as one of FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World in 2013, said that she apologizes to those who were “affected and offended” by her post.

“I would like to apologize to everyone who was affected and offended by my post: fellow motorists, Director Alexander C. Ignacio and his family, and the PNP institution as a whole,” Agustin said.

Explaining the reason why she posted the controversial business card of Ignacio on Facebook, Agustin said that she was just “overwhelmed by that moment” and that she just wanted “a little convenience on the road.”

She also denied that she knows Ignacio personally.

“I was just overwhelmed by that moment because I was caught in traffic for hours coming from work. I would like to make it a point that I do not know Director Alexander C. Ignacio personally. I mean no harm to anyone, and just like any Filipino motorist, (I) would like a little convenience on the road,” Agustin added.

Agustin drew flak from netizens after she had posted on her Facebook account that she was able to dodge a traffic violation with the use of Ignacio’s business card.

The post read: “Nahuli nanaman ako dahil coding but because of you Boss Alex wala ng huli huli. Thank you so much sa napaka-useful mong card with matching dedication pa #happykid”

(I was caught again because I had violated the number coding, but because of you, Boss Alex, I was not apprehended. Thank you so much for this useful business card with matching dedication.)

The alleged business card of Ignacio read: “PLS ASSIST MY EA, ALYZZA AGUSTIN.”

Ignacio also denied knowing Agustin.

“First of all, I categorically DENY that I personally know Alyzza Agustin, who claimed that she used my business card to avoid getting a traffic citation,” Ignacio, who is currently in Malaysia for a convention, said in a statement sent to INQUIRER.net.

Agustin has deactivated her Facebook account after posting her apology.
