MANILA, Philippines—Tropical Storm “Mario” (international name: Fung-Wong) has already claimed 12 lives, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
In its 9:00 p.m. bulletin which was posted Tuesday morning, the NDRRMC said the latest fatality was five-year-old Clyde Mavric Acosta from Napaset, Luna, La Union.
Acosta drowned during the onslaught of “Mario” last Friday.
According to the NDRRMC, 14 were injured during the storm and two are still missing.
Also, the number of evacuees is at 63,254 people or 14,899 families, which has decreased from the previous bulletin’s record of 129,676 persons or 30,266 families.
NDRRMC added that “Mario” caused P389,177,703 worth of damages, with P314,852,680 coming from damages in infrastructure, and P74,325,023 in agriculture.
