MLKP faces Alaska in Cebu Invt’l hoop

A BASKETBALL extravaganza awaits Cebu hoops fans today as the hometown M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños play host to three teams from the PBA in the 2011 Cebu City Invitational Games at the Cebu Coliseum.

The Niños of head coach and Cebu City Councilor Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba, holders of many titles in the Liga Pilipinas, face-off against the Alaska Aces in the opener at 5 p.m. Then the Meralco Bolts take on the Powerade Tigers in the nightcap at 7 p.m.

To further bolster their chances of a win after failing to do so in the same tournament last year, the Niños have tabbed two reinforcements in the face of former ABL import Dovan Sullivan and former pro point guard Ramsey Williams.

The Niños will also be welcoming to their fold new point guard Argel Mendoza, formerly of the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
