MANILA, Philippines — Motorists are experiencing heavy traffic along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) on Friday morning.

Liezel Nepomuceno of the NLEX Traffic Control Room said heavy traffic started as early as 5:00 a.m.

She described the traffic as bumper-to-bumper starting from the southbound lane of Valenzuela going to Balintawak and roads leading to Manila. Roads leading to the North Harbor and nearby ports are congested, she added.

Nepomuceno said this was due to the implementation of the “one truck lane” policy in Manila.
