DIGOS CITY, Philippines – Police authorities in Davao del Sur arrested two more suspected drug pushers as they continue to crack down on the illegal drugs trade.
Senior Supt. Michael John Dubria, provincial police director, said the latest to be arrested was Herald Cervas, 30, who fell into the hands of the law during a sting operation around 12:10 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Colorado here.
He said two large sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P14,000 and the marked money used in the buy-bust operation by anti-drug agents led by Senior Supt. De Quincio Pante were recovered from the suspect.
Supt. Querubin Manalang, city police director, said Cervas, a resident of Maguindanao province, was the fifth suspected pusher to fall in the city for the month of August.
Dubria said earlier on Thursday, police operatives also arrested Silvestre Acosta Estrera, 32, of Bansalan, Davao del Sur during an operation there.
“We are relentless in our campaign against drugs in line with the instruction of Gov. Claude Bautista,” he said.
