MANILA, Philippines—Metro Manila and nearby provinces are in for a wet Thursday holiday as thunderstorms are expected to persist in these areas, the state weather bureau said.
In its latest advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) raised a thunderstorm warning over Metro Manila, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Bulacan, Zambales, Cavite and Laguna.
Pagasa added that the rains may persist in these areas for two hours.
Heavy rains may also cause flashfloods in affected areas.
