MANILA, Philippines – Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Jun-Jun” Binay showed up at the Senate on Wednesday to attend its investigation into the alleged overpriced Makati City Hall II parking building in Makati City.

Binay arrived a little past 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. hearing of the blue ribbon committee.

Binay’s father and namesake, Vice President Jejomar Binay, will not attend the hearing since he has not yet been invited by the committee, said the mayor’s spokesman Joey Salgado.

Father and son were both charged with plunder and graft at the Office of the Ombudsman over the alleged overpriced carpark building built when the Vice President was still the mayor of Makati.

The Binays have repeatedly denied the allegations.
