‘Inday’ maintains strength but may move away from PH

MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Depression “Inday” has maintained its strength and pace as it continues to traverse the eastern seas of the Philippines, the weather bureau said.
In its weather advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Inday” was last spotted at 720 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan as of 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Pagasa added that “Inday” has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour, moving northwest at 20 kph.
Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan would experience occasional rains while the rest of the county would be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Pagasa added that it saw no need to raise any public storm warnings as the cyclone was not expected to affect any part of the Philippines.
It is not expected to make landfall based on its current path, according to Pagasa.
This is the ninth tropical cyclone to enter the country this year and the third this month, coming on the heels of the destructive Typhoon Glenda and Typhoon Henry. With a report from Dona Z. Pazzibugan, Philippine Daily Inquirer
