Fire destroyed some P300,000 worth of property when it hit before dawn Tuesday a storage room of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) in Manila.
Fortunately, no one was reported killed or injured in the blaze.
Chief Insp. Bonifacio Carta of the Manila Fire District said that the fire started at 12:57 a.m. in the storage room on the fourth floor of the government agency’s corporate office on Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
The fire reached the third alarm before responding firefighters put it out at around 1:30 am.
Pagcor officials claimed that the blaze was caused by an air-conditioning unit which overheated.
Arson investigators, however, said that they had yet to establish the cause of the fire as they were still conducting a probe.
Firemen did not say what was inside the storage room although damage to property was estimated at P300,000.
