MANILA, Philippines—Due to Typhoon ‘Glenda’, work in all government offices in Metro Manila is suspended on Wednesday, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Francis Tolentino announced Tuesday.

“However, frontline agencies like the DSWD, MMDA and rescue teams of each local government are expected to report,” Tolentino said in an interview over DZMM Teleradyo on Tuesday evening.

Tolentino said it was Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa who released the order regarding the suspension of work in government offices at the National Capital Region (Metro Manila).

He added number coding in Metro Manila is lifted.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council earlier recommended suspension of government work in areas under Signal No. 2.

The typhoon is forecast to traverse Metro Manila by Wednesday morning. With a report from Frances Mangosing
